Deer Camp MKE

Paul and Natalia Hackbarth founded Deer Camp MKE. Paul bought 4044 N Oakland to store his DJ company, but the building had two storefronts. Paul didn’t know what to do with the second storefront but thought the community lacked a neighborhood bar.
The idea came to Paul while enjoying a fire in his northern woods cabin; design a bar like a northern woods cabin. Camp Shorewood opened six months after his first meeting with his architect. Today, there are three Camp locations alongside Deer Camp MKE and Campsite 131.
